About
There is something about the mountains in winter that changes everything: the trails disappear beneath the snow, the landscape becomes quieter, our pace slows down and suddenly, we start noticing again.
Into the Winter Wild is a two-day snowshoeing journey high above Leukerbad, created for those who want to experience the Swiss Alps beyond the ski slopes and busy winter resorts.
We travel on snowshoes into the vast white landscape of the Gemmi Pass, surrounded by high peaks, frozen terrain and the extraordinary silence that only winter can create.
Our home for the night is Gemmi Lodge 2350, perched high above the valley at 2,350 metres on a historic passage between Valais and the Bernese Oberland.
And when the last cable car descends, we stay. The mountain becomes quieter. The day visitors disappear. And we experience the rare privilege of spending the evening high in the winter Alps.
After our snowshoeing journey, there is time to slow down, warm up in the panoramic spa, share dinner together and simply watch the mountains change with the evening light.
The next morning, we wake up already in the mountains.
After breakfast, we put our snowshoes back on and step once again into the winter landscape – exploring another part of the Gemmi before gradually making our way home.
Along the way, we will create space to pause, notice and reconnect with the natural world around us- without any rush or pressure on a distance. Just two days of movement, fresh mountain air, good food, meaningful conversations and the simplicity of being outside.
Winter doesn’t ask us to do more, it invites us to become still enough to notice what is already there.

About the place where we will stay
At 2,350 metres, high above Leukerbad, we spend the night where travellers have crossed between Bern and Valais for centuries. When the last cable car leaves, the Gemmi becomes quieter: mountains, rock, sky and the vast high plateau around us.
This is not simply a hotel night. It is a night between two sides of the Alps – and between the journey behind us and the one still ahead.
At an elevation of 2,350 meters, a vast snowy landscape opens up on the plateau. Here, you can set out on marked trails or join a guided snowshoe tour off the beaten path.

The program will start on Saturday, March 6th at 10 am and will finish on Sunday, March 7th at 3pm in Leukerbad. Detailed program and list of things to take will be shared once registered. Meeting point is: March 6th, Leukerbad
Price:
Standard Shared room w shared bathroom (2 people in the room, price is per person): 395 CHF
Deluxe shared room w shared bathroom (2 people in the room, price is per person): 445 CHF
Private standard room w shared bathroom: 450 CHF
Private deluxe room with private bathroom: 490 CHF
Standard rooms have bathrooms outside the room.
Deluxe rooms have bathroom inside the room.
To secure booking: 100% needs to be paid (payment in installements is available upon request)
Cancellation policy: 1 month before 50% refundable (February 6th). After it- non refundable.
If you change your mind after booking, 100 CHF admin fee will be charged

Camille Mabillard is a qualified Swiss Mountain Leader with a passion for creating meaningful experiences in nature. Based in the Swiss Alps, she combines her love of the mountains with a deep interest in people, communication, and personal growth.
Alongside her work as a mountain leader, Camille is a certified coach, a trained mediator, and is currently studying psychology. She enjoys helping people slow down, reconnect with nature, and discover new perspectives, whether during a challenging hike or a quiet moment observing wildlife.
