Aletsch Patrimony site: Ice & Wonder. 4 day Trekking Experience
About Ice & Wonder Trek
A journey through ancient ice, wild Alpine landscapes and the extraordinary beauty of the Swiss Alps.
Welcome to the Aletsch Arena, home to the magnificent Great Aletsch Glacier – the longest glacier in the
Alps and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch region.
Over four days, we invite you to step away from everyday life and immerse yourself in one of Switzerland’s most remarkable mountain landscapes. Our trails lead through fragrant Alpine forests, colourful mountain meadows, dramatic ridgelines and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the immense river of ice.
But this journey is about more than spectacular scenery. It’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature and witness a landscape that has been shaped by thousands of years of natural forces – and is now changing before our eyes.
Along the way, we’ll discover the fascinating story of the glacier, experience the quiet beauty of the mountains and share meaningful moments with like-minded adventurers.
Four days of walking, discovery and reconnection – in a landscape that reminds us both of nature’s extraordinary power and its fragility.

The natural beauty of Nature can help to inspire feelings of awe and wonder, which can have a profound effect on the human spirit. The simple act of being in nature can help to put things into perspective, providing a sense of grounding and balance. We will take plenty of time to soak in the beauty during this trek.
Designed for medium level hikers to advanced or beginners with high motivation and firm physical condition.
We will discover some of the most beautiful parts of Switzerland, yet very secluded and authentic.
Every day we will hike for 4-6 hours (break time included) with a stable pace, taking time for being, enjoy the views, practice mindfulness and eating outside.
We will take the most beautiful hikes in the region and probably entire Switzerland.
We will stay in an authentic hotel located in Bettmeralp village.

I’d sit for hours watching the birds or squirrels, or looking into the faces of flowers. When I discovered a new plant, I sat beside it for a minute or a day, to make its acquaintance and try to hear what it had to tell me.’ John Muir, My Life with Nature

About trek leader- Ruta

Ruta has done her first hike back in 2013- she then realized that the real life is not happening in the indoor- office environment but rather outside.
This made her realize that she was missing something important in her life- connection with Nature. Since then, most of her time she spends outside- climbing, hiking, wild camping, walking in the forests, parks and other natural places. She has become over-passionate about hiking and is now keen to share the most beautiful places in the Swiss Alps with the others. During her outings she invites participants to experience nature differently: through mindfulness, nature connection practices & human element.
Ruta is a professional mountain leader ( Association of Mountain Guides in Switzerland), neuro-coach (Neuroleadership Institute, London), and forest therapy guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, USA).
By creating Be Outside Coaching movement, she has connected her 2 major passions: activities outside and human development. Be Outside Coaching delivers immersive and holistic Nature experiences in the different corners of the Swiss Alps. So far Ruta has created over 70 treks and retreats and led with more than 1000 people outdoors.
‘ There is yet another way to be, to see , to feel, to lead. You will never hike the same way again after experiencing this.’ – Be Outside Coaching
What do previous participants say about Be Outside Coaching?
‘To be in nature means to experience everything: the sounds, plants, trees- to touch, to feel how everything is changing. It’s amazing to see how much nature gives to us. We must experience this again and again. I am so happy that I found out about the Be Outside Coaching.
What Ruta does in those Nature Retreats is amazing and I wish to everyone to experience it.
